In line with the vision βHealthy Students, Prosperous Futureβ, CPREC Nepal successfully carried out a one-day School Health Education Program at Shree Sanjay Sai Vidhya Mandir, Balkot, Bhaktapur. The event was entirely volunteer-led, conducted through the commitment and passion of young health educators β without any financial or institutional sponsorship.
The program aimed to raise awareness and build life skills among school students in areas such as:
Personal and menstrual hygiene
Balanced nutrition
Mental well-being
Puberty and emotional health
Lifestyle management
Digital safety and substance abuse awareness
Approximately 60 students from Grades 6 to 10 participated in the sessions. For more effective delivery, students were grouped into:
Pre-Adolescents (Grades 6β8)
Adolescents (Grades 9β10)
Handwashing and personal hygiene
Importance of a balanced diet and avoiding junk food
Exercise and staying physically active
Prevention of common illnesses
Clean surroundings and environmental health
Physical and emotional changes during adolescence
Menstrual hygiene awareness (for girls)
Mental health and stress management
Awareness against substance abuse
Safe digital habits and social media responsibility
Students described the sessions as fun, interactive, and deeply informative. They particularly enjoyed the open discussions, role plays, and hands-on demonstrations that brought health concepts to life.
The school administration expressed sincere gratitude to the CPREC Nepal team. They emphasized that such programs significantly contribute to the studentsβ overall development and called for similar efforts in the future.
Program Coordinator Melina Gurung remarked:
βBy bringing health education directly into classrooms, we hope to empower young minds to care for themselves and their communities. The enthusiasm of the students and support from the school were truly inspiring.β
